SDLE assesses readiness for dental practice. The 2026 SCFHS guide describes 200 single-best-answer questions with four options. There are two blocks of 100 questions, each lasting 120 minutes, separated by a 30-minute break. Up to 10% may be pilot questions.
Subjects
Restorative dentistry carries 40%, periodontics 18%, endodontics 17%, oral medicine and surgery 15%, and orthodontics with pediatric dentistry 10%. Local anesthesia, professional ethics, infection control and patient safety cross the subjects.
Scores
The pass score is 542 on a reporting scale of 200–800. It is not a percentage. A percentage correct in practice does not predict a scaled SDLE score.
Booking
Apply for eligibility through Mumaris+. After approval, obtain your scheduling permit and book the examination with Prometric within the permitted period. Check current windows and available appointments before making travel arrangements. Bring the permit and an acceptable unexpired identity document whose name matches the permit.
Preparation
Use the subject weights to divide study time, then review missed clinical decisions and the reasons behind all answer choices. This material provides English practice with Arabic learning support. It is an independent study resource and does not replace clinical supervision. It does not reproduce the official practice examination.
After the examination
The guide states that results are released two to six weeks after the test window closes, with a result statement and performance feedback.
