How to register

  1. Go to ETEC's e-services portal (e-services.etec.gov.sa) and open your beneficiary profile, or create an account if you do not have one.
  2. Register for the subject test, choose Computer Science during the announced registration window and pay the fee (SAR 100). ETEC explains the steps with screenshots in its visual guide to registering for the subject test.
  3. Your profile shows whether your subject test is on paper or on computer. After paying you can change or delete the booking up to 72 hours before a paper test, or 48 hours before a computer-based test.
  4. Bring a valid ID to the test: national ID for Saudis or iqama for non-Saudis, a passport, or a Saudi driving licence.
  5. The professional license needs both the General Educational Test and the subject test. Its level is set by the lower of the two scores together with your qualification and years of experience, and issuing or upgrading the license costs SAR 100.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions are on the Computer Science test and how long is it?

The Computer Science test has 88 questions in 120 minutes (two hours). Every question is multiple choice with four options, and calculators are not allowed. The mock exams on this site use the same number of questions and time.

Can I try Teacher License – Computer questions for free?

Yes. Free questions: a 10-question diagnostic test covering the main units, no sign-up; at the end we compare your score with the license levels 50 (Practitioner), 70 (Advanced) and 80 (Expert), tell you how many questions you are short of the next level, and show your weakest units. The free practice test page lists the same questions with answers and an explanation for every option. The rest of the questions and the full mock exams come with a pass from SAR 26.

What makes this Teacher License – Computer question bank different?

Question bank: full mock exams of 88 questions in 120 minutes, like the real test with a result for every unit, plus 511 explained questions across 16 units, every option explained, a review of your mistakes, and two ways to practise: see the answer right away, or sit a full timed mock. Every question is reviewed and referenced, ready to practise on your phone. Try the free questions and read the explanations before buying full access.

What does the test cover?

16 standards in 7 domains, according to ETEC's guide (p. 7): Computer Science 35% (programming 14%, databases 8%, operating systems 8%, cybersecurity 5%), Computer Applications 18%, Teaching Strategies 14%, Computer Engineering 11% (networks 8%, architecture 3%), Computing and the Curriculum 8%, Computing and Mathematics 7%, and Computing and Education 7%.

What is the pass mark?

The minimum for a license is 50 (Practitioner Teacher), then 70 for Advanced Teacher and 80 or above for Expert Teacher, under Article 4 of the Professional License Regulations. The level uses the lower of your General Educational and subject test scores, together with your qualification and years of experience. Wrong answers carry no penalty.

What language is the Computer Science test in?

Arabic. ETEC says the tests are in Arabic except for the English language subject. The Computer Science guide itself writes many terms in English next to the Arabic, such as Stack, Queue and virtual memory, and shows code in Java and C++, so learn both forms of each term.

When is the next test?

The latest subject-test window ran from 18 to 31 October 2026, and the next window is expected in late January 2027. Plan your study around that, and keep an eye on the test page on ETEC's website so you can register when it opens.

How much is the test and how long is the result valid?

The subject test costs SAR 100, the General Educational Test has its own SAR 100 fee, and issuing or upgrading the license costs SAR 100. A result stays valid for five years from the date it is announced.

Is my mock exam score an official result?

No. Scores on this site are for practice only and are not an official result. This site is independent and is not affiliated with ETEC, Qiyas or any government body. They do show where you'd stand if the test were today: the full mock exam has the real question count and time, and your score is split by part of the exam so you can see where you lose points.

Is this an official site, and how do I pay?

It is an independent site, not part of Qiyas or any government body, and every question is reviewed before it is published. You pay once, with no automatic renewal, through Waffo Pancake (the merchant of record) by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and your statement shows "WAFFO". If you were charged twice or the pass did not open, email support@saudiexams.com.

Summary

This unit covers standard 6.10.1 of the computer science teacher standards and accounts for about 4 of the 88 questions. It has three sections: number systems (binary, octal, decimal, hexadecimal), conversions between them and addition and subtraction with two's complement; Boolean algebra, Boole's theorems and algebraic simplification; and matrices with their operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, determinant and inverse. The questions are usually short calculations: converting a number between bases, simplifying a Boolean expression, or finding the order of a matrix product. Learn the rules on this page, then try them by hand on small examples.

What the exam focuses on

  • Converting between binary, octal and hexadecimal by grouping bits: 3 bits per octal digit, 4 bits per hexadecimal digit (indicator 6.10.1.1).
  • Converting a decimal number to binary by repeated division by 2 and reading the remainders from bottom to top (6.10.1.1).
  • Representing negative numbers in two's complement, the range for n bits, and subtraction done as addition (6.10.1.1).
Show 5 more
  • The postulates and laws of Boolean algebra: identity, complement, absorption and distribution (6.10.1.2).
  • De Morgan's two theorems and applying them to a Boolean expression, turning AND into OR and the reverse (6.10.1.2).
  • Algebraic simplification of a Boolean expression, the duality principle, and the fact that NAND and NOR are universal gates (6.10.1.2).
  • The conditions for adding and multiplying matrices, and the order of the product matrix (6.10.1.3).
  • The determinant and inverse of a 2×2 matrix, and the condition for an inverse to exist (6.10.1.3).

Common traps

  • Reading the remainders top to bottom when converting decimal to binary. The correct order is bottom to top: the last remainder is the leftmost bit.
  • Mixing up one's complement (flip the bits only) with two's complement (flip the bits, then add 1).
  • Forgetting that the two's complement range is not symmetric: with 8 bits it runs from -128 to +127, not -127 to +127.
Show 5 more
  • Getting De Morgan wrong: (A+B)' equals A'·B', not A'+B'. The operation flips and each variable is complemented.
  • Applying ordinary arithmetic to logic: A+A equals A, not 2A; A+1 equals 1; and A+A' equals 1.
  • Treating matrix multiplication as commutative. In general AB does not equal BA, and one of the two products may not even be defined.
  • Multiplying two matrices by multiplying matching entries only. The correct method multiplies rows of the first by columns of the second and adds the products.
  • Looking for the inverse of a matrix whose determinant is zero or that is not square. It has no inverse.

How do you convert binary 110101 to hexadecimal?

Group the bits in fours from the right: 0011 0101, which is 35 in hexadecimal.

What is the value of F in hexadecimal, and what is FF in decimal?

F is 15, and FF is 15×16+15 = 255.

What is decimal 13 in binary?

1101, because 13 = 8+4+1.

How do you find the two's complement of a number?

Flip every bit, then add 1.

What is the integer range in 8-bit two's complement?

From −128 to +127.

What is 1+1 in binary addition?

10 in binary: write 0 and carry 1.

State De Morgan's first theorem.

(A·B)' = A'+B'. The complement of an AND equals the OR of the complements.

Simplify A + A·B.

A, by the absorption law, since A(1+B) = A.
