Where other sources differ

  • ETEC calls the test "Health and Physical Education", not physical education alone: health sciences (anatomy, nutrition, first aid and healthy lifestyle) is its largest domain at 30%.
  • ETEC's guide lists a domain called "scientific research, health and PE and the community", but its weights table gives that domain one standard (4%); the standard on research into effective teaching sits in the curriculum and teaching methods domain (24%).

How to register

  1. Go to ETEC's e-services portal (e-services.etec.gov.sa) and open your beneficiary profile, or create an account if you do not have one.
  2. Register for the subject test in health and physical education during the announced registration window and pay the fee (SAR 100).
  3. Your profile shows whether your subject's test is on paper or on computer. After paying you can change or delete the booking up to 72 hours before a paper test, or 48 hours before a computer-based test.
  4. Sit the test with a valid ID: national ID for Saudis or iqama for non-Saudis, a passport, or a Saudi driving licence. Calculators are not allowed.
  5. Check your result in your profile once it is announced; it stays valid for five years. The license needs both the subject test and the General Educational Test, its level is set by the lower of the two scores together with your qualification and years of experience, and issuing or upgrading the license costs SAR 100.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions are there in the Health and Physical Education test and how long is it?

88 multiple-choice questions with four options, in 120 minutes (two hours). Calculators are not allowed and the test is in Arabic. Our mock exams are the same length.

Can I try Teacher License – Physical Education questions for free?

Yes. Free questions: a 10-question diagnostic test covering the main units, no sign-up; at the end we compare your score with the license levels 50 (Practitioner), 70 (Advanced) and 80 (Expert), tell you how many questions you are short of the next level, and show your weakest units. The free practice test page lists the same questions with answers and an explanation for every option. The rest of the questions and the full mock exams come with a pass from SAR 26.

What makes this Teacher License – Physical Education question bank different?

Question bank: full mock exams of 88 questions in 120 minutes, like the real test with a result for every unit, plus 483 explained questions across 7 units, every option explained, a review of your mistakes, and two ways to practise: see the answer right away, or sit a full timed mock. Every question is reviewed and referenced, ready to practise on your phone. Try the free questions and read the explanations before buying full access.

What is the pass mark?

The minimum for a license is 50 (Practitioner Teacher), then 70 for Advanced Teacher and 80 or above for Expert Teacher, under the Professional License Regulations (Article 4). The level uses the lower of your General Educational and subject-specific scores, together with your qualification and years of experience. Scoring is criterion-referenced and wrong answers carry no penalty.

What does the test cover and how is it weighted?

21 standards in seven domains, according to the candidate guide: Health Sciences 30%, Curriculum and Teaching Methods 24%, Motor Behaviour and Psychology 22%, Theoretical and Applied Foundations of Games 12%, then Managing and Organising Health and PE Programmes, Adapted Physical Education, and Health and PE and the Community at 4% each.

Which part of the test is the largest?

Health Sciences at 30%, about 26 of the 88 questions. It has seven standards: anatomy, exercise physiology, physical fitness, nutrition, sports injuries and first aid, healthy lifestyle, and safety. Starting there covers close to a third of the test.

Is there a PE 1 and PE 2, like science and maths?

No. ETEC publishes one guide and one set of standards for health and physical education, so it is a single test with its 21 standards for PE teachers at every stage.

When is the next test?

The next sitting of the subject test is expected in late January 2027. The first 1448 AH sitting ran from 18 to 31 October 2026. Watch ETEC's page for when registration opens.

Does the test ask about the rules of sports?

Yes. The standard on the theory and practice of games (8%) covers technical skills and their teaching steps, the rules of the sports in the curriculum, their history, and game criteria by gender and age. The strategies and tactics standard (4%) covers training principles, game plans and small-sided games.

Is the subject test enough to get the license?

No. The Teachers' Professional License needs two tests: the subject-specific test in your own field and the General Educational Test, which is the same for every subject. Each costs SAR 100, and the level uses the lower of the two scores, so a high score in one does not lift your level above your score in the other.

Is my mock exam score an official result?

No. Scores on this site are for practice only and are not an official result. This site is independent and is not affiliated with ETEC, Qiyas or any government body. They do show where you'd stand if the test were today: the full mock exam has the real question count and time, and your score is split by part of the exam so you can see where you lose points.

How long are the result and the license valid?

A subject-test result stays valid for five years from the date it is announced. The license itself is valid for five years, and you can apply to renew it in its final year, under the Professional License Regulations.

Is this an official site, and how do I pay?

It is an independent site, not part of Qiyas or any government body, and every question is reviewed before it is published. You pay once, with no automatic renewal, through Waffo Pancake (the merchant of record) by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and your statement shows "WAFFO". If you were charged twice or the pass did not open, email support@saudiexams.com.

Study material sample: Health Sciences

Summary

Health Sciences is the largest domain in the Health and Physical Education test: 30% of the score, about 26 of 88 questions. It has seven standards: anatomy (6.21.1), exercise physiology (6.21.2), physical fitness (6.21.5), nutrition (6.21.6), sports injuries and first aid (6.21.7), healthy lifestyle (6.21.19), and safety and security (6.21.20). Questions put you in situations a PE teacher meets: a student who wants an endurance programme, a vegetarian teenager who needs supplements, an injury during class. Memorise the definitions and numbers, then practise choosing the right action for each situation.

What the exam focuses on

  • Joint classes (fibrous, cartilaginous, synovial) and the types of synovial joint with an example of each (6.21.1, indicator 3).
  • The three energy systems (ATP-PC, glycolytic, aerobic): duration, fuel, and whether oxygen is needed (6.21.2, indicator 2).
  • The cardiorespiratory endurance prescription: 60–75% of maximum heart rate for 20–30 continuous minutes (6.21.2, indicator 1, guide sample question).
Show 5 more
  • Health-related and skill-related fitness components, and the parts of the FITT principle (6.21.5, indicators 3 and 5).
  • A weight-loss programme starts with realistic short-term goals (6.21.5, indicator 5, guide sample question).
  • Carbohydrate, fat and protein: kcal per gram and the role of each; fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins; supplements for a vegetarian: B12 and D (6.21.6).
  • The difference between sprain, strain, contusion, fracture and dislocation, and RICE/PRICE first aid (6.21.7, indicators 1 and 3).
  • Adult CPR steps: 30 compressions then 2 breaths, at 100–120 compressions per minute (6.21.7, indicator 5).

Common traps

  • A sprain injures a ligament; a strain injures a muscle or tendon. An option that swaps them is wrong.
  • Speed, agility, balance, coordination, power and reaction time are skill-related. Cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition are health-related. Do not mix the two groups.
  • The ATP-PC system needs no oxygen and lasts about 10 seconds; the glycolytic system is also anaerobic but extends to about 2 minutes. The aerobic system takes over after that. Do not tie an activity to one system only, because the systems work together.
Show 5 more
  • The fat-soluble vitamins are A, D, E and K; the water-soluble ones are B and C. B12 and D are scarce in plant foods, so they are recommended for a vegetarian. Potassium, sodium and thiamine are not the answer.
  • Heat exhaustion (cool, clammy skin, heavy sweating) differs from heat stroke (hot, dry skin, confusion, body temperature above 40 °C). Heat stroke is an emergency: call for help immediately and cool the person.
  • Doping agents are banned substances taken to improve performance; stimulants (such as caffeine and nicotine) raise alertness; sedatives lower nervous system activity; narcotics alter consciousness and cause addiction. Read the description of the substance before choosing.
  • The adult CPR ratio is 30 compressions to 2 breaths. The recovery position is for someone who is unresponsive but breathing; someone who is not breathing needs CPR. Do not apply heat to a fresh injury: in the first hours use rest, ice, compression and elevation.
  • FITT stands for frequency, intensity, time and type. 'How many times a week' is frequency, 'how many minutes' is time, and 'what heart rate' or 'what percentage of effort' is intensity.

What is the best prescription to develop cardiorespiratory endurance?

Continuous aerobic activity at 60–75% of maximum heart rate for 20–30 minutes.

Name the skill-related fitness components.

Speed, agility, balance, coordination, power and reaction time.

What does FITT stand for?

Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type.

What helps a weight-loss programme succeed most?
