Where other sources differ

  • Level 1 (for primary teachers) has different standards and weights from Level 2; this bank is for Level 2 (intermediate and secondary).

How to register

  1. Go to ETEC's e-services portal (e-services.etec.gov.sa) and open your beneficiary profile, or create an account if you do not have one.
  2. Register for the specialized test during the announced registration window, choosing Mathematics at the level that matches your stage: Level 1 for primary teachers, Level 2 for intermediate and secondary teachers. Then pay the fee (SAR 100).
  3. Sit the test on your date with a valid ID: national ID or iqama, a passport, or a Saudi driving licence. Whether your test is on paper or on computer is shown in your profile, depending on the subject.
  4. Check your result in your profile once it is announced; it stays valid for five calendar years from the announcement date.
  5. The professional license needs both the specialized test and the General Educational Test. Its level is set by the lower of the two scores together with your qualification and years of experience, and issuing or upgrading the license costs SAR 100.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Math 1 and Math 2?

They are two separate tests. Level 1 is for primary mathematics teachers and Level 2 for intermediate and secondary teachers, according to ETEC's two mathematics teacher standards documents (1441 AH). Level 2 adds a separate calculus standard, plus complex numbers, matrices, conic sections and vectors.

Can I try Teacher License – Math 2 questions for free?

Yes. Free questions: a 10-question diagnostic test covering the main units, no sign-up; at the end we compare your score with the license levels 50 (Practitioner), 70 (Advanced) and 80 (Expert), tell you how many questions you are short of the next level, and show your weakest units. The free practice test page lists the same questions with answers and an explanation for every option. The rest of the questions and the full mock exams come with a pass from SAR 26.

What makes this Teacher License – Math 2 question bank different?

Question bank: full mock exams of 88 questions in 120 minutes, like the real test with a result for every unit, plus 615 explained questions across 12 units, every option explained, a review of your mistakes, and two ways to practise: see the answer right away, or sit a full timed mock. Every question is reviewed and referenced, ready to practise on your phone. Try the free questions and read the explanations before buying full access.

Which standards does the Math 2 test cover, and how are they weighted?

Twelve standards in seven domains, per the specification table in the candidate guide (p. 7): numbers and operations 12%, algebra and real functions 20%, calculus 12%, geometry 18%, measurement 8%, statistics and probability 12%, logic and reasoning 6%, teaching mathematics 4%, and four mathematical-process standards (problem solving, communication, modelling and reasoning) at 2% each.

How many questions are in the mathematics specialized test, and how long is it?

The Math 2 test has 88 multiple-choice questions with four options and lasts 120 minutes (two hours). The mock exams here use the same number of questions and time.

What is the pass mark for the specialized test?

The minimum for a license is 50 (Practitioner Teacher), then 70 for Advanced Teacher and 80 or above for Expert Teacher, under the Professional License Regulations (Article 4). The level uses the lower of your General Educational and subject-specific scores, together with your qualification and years of experience. Scoring is criterion-referenced and wrong answers carry no penalty.

Can I use a calculator in the mathematics test?

No. ETEC's FAQ says calculators are not allowed in either the General Educational Test or the specialized test. The questions here are built to be solved with pen and paper, and the solutions show mental-maths and estimation shortcuts.

When is the next specialized test?

The latest specialized test window on ETEC's page was 18–31 October 2026, with registration opening in August 2026. The next window is expected in late January 2027, so keep an eye on the test page on ETEC's website and register when it opens.

Is the specialized test enough to get the license?

No. The Teachers' Professional License needs two tests: the specialized test in mathematics and the General Educational Test, which is the same for every subject. Each costs SAR 100, and the license level uses the lower of the two scores.

Is my mock exam score an official result?

No. Scores on this site are for practice only and are not an official result. This site is independent and is not affiliated with ETEC, Qiyas or any government body. They do show where you'd stand if the test were today: the full mock exam has the real question count and time, and your score is split by part of the exam so you can see where you lose points.

Is this an official site, and how do I pay?

It is an independent site, not part of Qiyas or any government body, and every question is reviewed before it is published. You pay once, with no automatic renewal, through Waffo Pancake (the merchant of record) by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and your statement shows "WAFFO". If you were charged twice or the pass did not open, email support@saudiexams.com.

Study material sample: Numbers and operations

Summary

This unit covers standard 6.4.1, Numbers and operations. It is worth 12% of the test, about 11 of the 88 questions, and has seven indicators. First, the number sets (natural, whole, integers, rational, real, complex) and how they relate. Second, operations on those sets: roots, exponents, absolute value and comparison. Third, number theory: GCD, LCM, divisibility, primes and congruences. Fourth, ratio, percentage, proportion and rate. Fifth, estimation and mental calculation to check that an answer is reasonable. Sixth, complex numbers in rectangular and polar form and De Moivre's theorem. Seventh, problems that combine these ideas. The questions test exact application of rules, so learn each definition together with its edge cases before you practise calculations.

What the exam focuses on

  • The chain \mathbb{N}\subset\mathbb{W}\subset\mathbb{Z}\subset\mathbb{Q}\subset\mathbb{R}\subset\mathbb{C} and classifying any given number precisely (indicator 6.4.1.1).
  • Converting a repeating decimal to a fraction by subtracting x from a power-of-10 multiple of itself (6.4.1.1 and 6.4.1.2).
  • Exponent and radical laws, \sqrt{x^{2}}=|x| and rationalising the denominator (6.4.1.2).
Show 4 more
  • GCD and LCM through prime factorisation, and the relation \gcd(a,b)\cdot\text{lcm}(a,b)=ab (6.4.1.3).
  • Divisibility rules for 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 11, and congruence a\equiv b\pmod{m} (6.4.1.3).
  • Percentage change, successive increase then decrease, and direct and inverse proportion (6.4.1.4).
  • Polar form, modulus, conjugate and powers of a complex number by De Moivre's theorem (6.4.1.6).

Common traps

  • In the Saudi curriculum 0 is not a natural number (naturals start at 1, whole numbers start at 0). And 1 is not prime.
  • 2 is the only even prime, and not every odd number is prime (9 and 15 are not).
  • \sqrt{x^{2}}=|x|, not always x. Likewise \sqrt{a+b}\ne\sqrt{a}+\sqrt{b} and (a+b)^{2}\ne a^{2}+b^{2}.
Show 4 more
  • A 20% increase followed by a 20% decrease does not return the original value: 1.2\times0.8=0.96, a 4% decrease. A percentage is taken of the value the change is measured against.
  • Mixing up \gcd and \text{lcm}: the GCD is never larger than the smaller number, the LCM is never smaller than the larger one.
  • \tan^{-1}(b/a) alone does not give the argument of a complex number; place the number in its quadrant. For example -1+i has argument 135^\circ, not -45^\circ.
  • Powers of i repeat every four: i^{4}=1. Take the exponent's remainder on division by 4 rather than halving it.

What is the difference between natural and whole numbers?

Natural numbers start at 1; whole numbers start at 0.

What is the containment chain of the number sets?

\mathbb{N}\subset\mathbb{W}\subset\mathbb{Z}\subset\mathbb{Q}\subset\mathbb{R}\subset\mathbb{C}

How can you tell from its decimal that a number is rational?

If the decimal terminates or repeats it is rational; if it neither terminates nor repeats it is irrational.

Convert 0.\overline{3} and 0.\overline{9} to fractions.

0.\overline{3}=\frac{1}{3} and 0.\overline{9}=\frac{9}{9}=1.

What is \sqrt{(-5)^{2}}?

\sqrt{25}=5=|-5|, because \sqrt{x^{2}}=|x|.

Which is the only even prime? Is 1 prime?

The number 2. And 1 is neither prime nor composite.

How many divisors does 72 have?

72=2^{3}\cdot3^{2}, so it has (3+1)(2+1)=12 divisors.

Find \gcd(12,18) and \text{lcm}(12,18).

\gcd=6 and \text{lcm}=36. Check: 6\times36=12\times18=216.
