Frequently asked questions
How many questions are in the Qudurat test and how long is it?
120 multiple-choice questions in five sections of 24 questions each, according to ETEC's guide, in 2 hours 5 minutes. Each section is timed, you cannot go back to an earlier section once you move on, and calculators are not allowed.
Can I try Qudurat (GAT) questions for free?
Yes. Free questions: a 10-question diagnostic test covering the main units, no sign-up; at the end you get your score and your weakest units. The free practice test page lists the same questions with answers and an explanation for every option. The rest of the questions and the full mock exams come with a pass from SAR 26.

How is the scientific Qudurat different from the theoretical one?
The same question types with different weights. Scientific: verbal analogy 17%, sentence completion 7%, contextual error 10%, reading comprehension 21%, arithmetic 23%, geometry 10%, algebra 4%, data interpretation 8%. Theoretical: analogy 21%, sentence completion 13%, contextual error 16%, reading 25%, arithmetic 13%, geometry 8%, data interpretation 4%, and no algebra. The scientific test is for the General, Health and Life Sciences, and Computer Science and Engineering tracks; the theoretical test is for the Sharia and Business Administration tracks.
What is the pass mark for Qudurat?
There is no pass or fail. Your score shows where you stand among test takers: 65 is average, 70+ is the top 30%, 73+ the top 20%, 78+ the top 10% and 81+ the top 5%. Each university decides how much Qudurat counts in its weighted score.
When are the paper and computer-based Qudurat tests?
According to ETEC's page, the paper test runs from 10 to 14 December 2026 with late registration open from 1 November 2026, and the computer-based test is available all year in 2026, so you pick its date and centre when you register.
How many times can I sit Qudurat, and how long is the result valid?
You have five attempts, and the result is valid for five years from the test date. Computer-based results come out 3 to 5 working days after the test and paper results about a month later.
What is the difference between Qudurat and Tahsili?
Qudurat measures understanding, reasoning and analysis using language and maths, and does not rely on memorising the curriculum. Tahsili measures what you studied at secondary school in subjects such as maths, physics, chemistry and biology. Many universities ask for both, plus your school grades.
Is my mock exam score an official result?
No. Scores on this site are for practice only and are not an official result. This site is independent and is not affiliated with ETEC, Qiyas or any government body. They do show where you'd stand if the test were today: the full mock exam has the real question count, time and section weights, and your score is split by question type so you can see where you lose points.
Is this an official site, and how do I pay?
It is an independent site, not part of Qiyas or any government body, and every question is reviewed before it is published. You pay once, with no automatic renewal, through Waffo Pancake (the merchant of record) by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and your statement shows "WAFFO". If you were charged twice or the pass did not open, email support@saudiexams.com.
Study material sample: Verbal Analogy
Summary
Verbal analogy is the first area of the verbal section of the General Aptitude Test. Each question gives you a pair of words, and you pick the option pair that has the same relationship. It makes up about 20 of the 120 questions: 17% in the scientific track and 21% in the theoretical track. The course has four parts: synonyms and opposites, part-whole and category, cause, effect and function, and other associations such as place, tool and degree. You do not need memorized facts here. You need one fixed method: state the relationship in a sentence, test it on every option, and respect the order of the two words. Each part gives you the steps, the common traps and short examples to build speed.
What the exam focuses on
- The question tests the type of link between the two words, not the meaning of each word alone.
- Step one is always the same: put the relationship in one short, specific sentence, then test it on all four options.
- Order is part of the relationship: "wheel : car" (part : whole) is not "car : wheel" (whole : part).
Show 5 more
- Synonyms and opposites: separate close meanings from opposite ones, and watch the degree and strength of meaning.
- Part-whole and category: tell "part of a whole" (wheel : car) from "member of a category" (crow : bird).
- Cause, effect and function: fix the direction, whether the first word causes the second, results from it, or is a means to it.
- Other associations: place, tool and its user, degree and intensity, and a thing with its typical quality.
- When two options both fit, narrow your sentence with one more constraint (living or non-living, physical or abstract, stronger or weaker).
Common traps
- Picking an option from the same topic area when the relationship is different. Two kitchen words do not make the same relationship.
- Ignoring order: a wrong option often appears reversed (whole : part instead of part : whole) to look like the same relationship.
- Mixing up part and member: "page : book" is part-whole, while "story : book" is content or type. Ask: is it a piece of it, or a kind of it?
Show 5 more
- A loose sentence such as "they are related" or "they are used together" fits several options and separates none of them.
- Treating a difference of degree as a synonym: "smile : laugh" is not synonymy but a degree relationship between two actions of the same kind.
- Mixing up cause and function: a cause leads to a result with no purpose, while a function is what the thing exists to do.
- Getting stuck on an unfamiliar word and skipping the question. Infer its meaning from the other options, or rule out options whose relationship clearly fails.
- Calling any two different words opposites. "cold : hot" is an opposite pair, but "cold : red" has no such link.

What does a verbal analogy question ask for?
The option pair that has the same relationship as the pair in the stem.
What is the first step in any analogy question?
State the relationship between the two stem words in one short, specific sentence.
What do you do if your sentence fits two options?
Add a constraint that narrows it, such as living or non-living, direction, or strength.
Is "wheel : car" the same as "car : wheel"?
No. The first is part : whole and the second is whole : part. Order is part of the relationship.
What is the relationship in "crow : bird"?
Category: a crow is a kind of bird.
How do you tell a part from a member?
A part is a piece of the thing (page : book). A member is a kind of it (novel : book).
What is the relationship in "generous : stingy"?
Antonymy: two qualities at opposite ends of the same scale.
What is the difference between cause and function?
A cause leads to a result without purpose (smoking : cough). A function is what the thing exists for (scissors : cutting).
