Where other sources differ
- Math 1 and Math 2 are separate tests with different standards and weights: Level 1 is for primary teachers, Level 2 for intermediate and secondary teachers. This bank is for Level 1.
- Geometry and measurement together are the largest domain in Math 1 (32%), and the test has no calculus standard, unlike Level 2.
How to register
- Go to ETEC's e-services portal (e-services.etec.gov.sa) and open your beneficiary profile, or create an account if you do not have one.
- Register for the specialized test during the announced registration window and choose Mathematics Level 1 if you teach, or will teach, at primary stage (Level 2 is for intermediate and secondary teachers). Then pay the fee (SAR 100).
- Sit the test on your date with a valid ID: national ID or iqama, a passport, or a Saudi driving licence. Whether your test is on paper or on computer is shown in your profile, depending on the subject.
- Check your result in your profile once it is announced; it stays valid for five calendar years from the announcement date.
- The professional license needs both the specialized test and the General Educational Test. Its level is set by the lower of the two scores together with your qualification and years of experience, and issuing or upgrading the license costs SAR 100.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Math 1 and Math 2?
They are two separate tests. Level 1 is for primary mathematics teachers and Level 2 for intermediate and secondary teachers, according to the Ministry of Education's specializations guide for teaching posts (2025) and ETEC's two mathematics teacher standards documents (1441 AH). Math 1 has eleven standards; geometry and measurement together are the largest share (32%), and there is no calculus standard.
Can I try Teacher License – Math 1 questions for free?
Yes. Free questions: a 10-question diagnostic test covering the main units, no sign-up; at the end we compare your score with the license levels 50 (Practitioner), 70 (Advanced) and 80 (Expert), tell you how many questions you are short of the next level, and show your weakest units. The free practice test page lists the same questions with answers and an explanation for every option. The rest of the questions and the full mock exams come with a pass from SAR 26.
What makes this Teacher License – Math 1 question bank different?
Question bank: full mock exams of 88 questions in 120 minutes, like the real test with a result for every unit, plus 551 explained questions across 11 units, every option explained, a review of your mistakes, and two ways to practise: see the answer right away, or sit a full timed mock. Every question is reviewed and referenced, ready to practise on your phone. Try the free questions and read the explanations before buying full access.
Which standards does the Math 1 test cover, and how are they weighted?
Eleven standards in seven domains, per the specification table in the candidate guide (p. 7): numbers and operations 18%, algebra and real functions 20%, geometry 20%, measurement 12%, statistics and probability 12%, logic and reasoning 4%, teaching mathematics 4%, then four mathematical-process standards: problem solving 4%, and communication, modelling and reasoning at 2% each.
How many questions are in the Math 1 test, and how long is it?
The Math 1 test has 88 multiple-choice questions with four options and lasts 120 minutes (two hours). The mock exams here use the same number of questions and time, spread across the standards by weight.
What is the pass mark for the specialized test?
The minimum for a license is 50 (Practitioner Teacher), then 70 for Advanced Teacher and 80 or above for Expert Teacher, under the Professional License Regulations (Article 4). The level uses the lower of your General Educational and subject-specific scores, together with your qualification and years of experience. Scoring is criterion-referenced and wrong answers carry no penalty.
Can I use a calculator in the mathematics test?
No. ETEC's FAQ says calculators are not allowed in either the General Educational Test or the specialized test. The questions here are built to be solved with pen and paper, and the solutions show mental-maths and estimation shortcuts.
When is the next specialized test?
The latest specialized test window on ETEC's page was 18–31 October 2026, with registration opening in August 2026. The next window is expected in late January 2027, so keep an eye on the test page on ETEC's website and register when it opens.
Is the specialized test enough to get the license?
No. The Teachers' Professional License needs two tests: the specialized test in mathematics and the General Educational Test, which is the same for every subject. Each costs SAR 100, and the license level uses the lower of the two scores.
Is my mock exam score an official result?
No. Scores on this site are for practice only and are not an official result. This site is independent and is not affiliated with ETEC, Qiyas or any government body. They do show where you'd stand if the test were today: the full mock exam has the real question count and time, and your score is split by part of the exam so you can see where you lose points.
Is this an official site, and how do I pay?
It is an independent site, not part of Qiyas or any government body, and every question is reviewed before it is published. You pay once, with no automatic renewal, through Waffo Pancake (the merchant of record) by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and your statement shows "WAFFO". If you were charged twice or the pass did not open, email support@saudiexams.com.
Study material sample: Numbers and operations
Summary
This unit covers standard 6.3.1, Numbers and operations. It is worth 18% of the test, about 16 of the 88 questions, and has six indicators. First, the number sets (natural, whole, integers, rational, real) and how they relate. Second, operations on those sets: the four operations, comparison, roots, exponents and absolute value. Third, number theory: GCD, LCM, divisibility and prime numbers. Fourth, ratio, percentage, proportion and rate. Fifth, estimation and mental calculation to check that an answer is reasonable. Sixth, word problems that combine these ideas. The questions test exact definitions and their edge cases, so learn those before you practise calculations.
What the exam focuses on
- The chain \mathbb{N}\subset\mathbb{W}\subset\mathbb{Z}\subset\mathbb{Q}\subset\mathbb{R} and classifying any given number precisely (indicator 6.3.1.1).
- Rational numbers (terminating or repeating decimals) versus irrational ones such as \sqrt{2} and \pi, and converting a repeating decimal to a fraction (6.3.1.1).
- The four operations on fractions, decimals and negative integers, the order of operations, and comparing and ordering fractions (6.3.1.2).
Show 5 more
- The exponent laws, simplifying roots such as \sqrt{50}=5\sqrt{2}, and absolute value |x| as distance from zero (6.3.1.2).
- GCD and LCM through prime factorisation, and using them in sharing and repeating-event problems (6.3.1.3).
- The divisibility tests for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11, and the definitions of prime and composite numbers (6.3.1.3).
- Percentages: increase and decrease, successive discounts, finding the original from the result, and converting between fraction, decimal and percent (6.3.1.4).
- Direct and inverse proportion, unit rate (speed and unit price), and dividing a quantity in a given ratio (6.3.1.4).
Common traps
- In the Saudi curriculum 0 is not a natural number (naturals start at 1, whole numbers start at 0). And 1 is neither prime nor composite.
- 2 is the only even prime, and not every odd number is prime (9, 15 and 21 are not).
- \sqrt{x^{2}}=|x|, not always x. Likewise \sqrt{a+b}\ne\sqrt{a}+\sqrt{b} and (a+b)^{2}\ne a^{2}+b^{2}.
Show 5 more
- A 20% increase followed by a 20% decrease does not return to the start: 100\to120\to96. Successive discounts of 20% and 10% are not a 30% discount; 0.8\times0.9=0.72, so the discount is 28%.
- A product or quotient is positive when the signs agree, but addition does not work that way: (-3)+(-5)=-8 while (-3)\times(-5)=15.
- Mixing up GCD and LCM: the GCD is never larger than the smaller number and the LCM is never smaller than the larger one. Splitting into equal groups needs the GCD; repeating events that coincide need the LCM.
- The ratio 3:5 compares part to part; a fraction compares part to whole. In a class with 3 boys for every 5 girls, the boys are \frac{3}{8} of the class, not \frac{3}{5}.
- In inverse proportion the product stays constant, not the quotient: doubling the workers halves the time, so do not multiply the time by 2.

What is the difference between natural and whole numbers?
Natural numbers start at 1; whole numbers start at 0.
What is a prime number? Is 1 prime?
A natural number greater than 1 with exactly two divisors, 1 and itself. 1 is not prime.
When is a number rational?
When it can be written \frac{a}{b} with a,b\in\mathbb{Z}, b\ne0; its decimal terminates or repeats.
Convert 0.\overline{6} to a fraction.
10x-x=6, so x=\frac{6}{9}=\frac{2}{3}.
Simplify \sqrt{50}.
\sqrt{25\cdot2}=5\sqrt{2}.
What is \sqrt{x^{2}}?
|x|; it equals x only when x\ge0.
What are 5^{0} and 2^{-3}?
5^{0}=1 and 2^{-3}=\frac{1}{8}.
Find the GCD and LCM of 12 and 18.
12=2^{2}\cdot3 and 18=2\cdot3^{2}: GCD 2\cdot3=6, LCM 2^{2}\cdot3^{2}=36.
