Last verified: 31 October 2026. The weights come from ETEC's candidate guide for the Mathematics (Level 1) test, and the past-question counts from our question bank. This is an independent guide, not affiliated with ETEC, the National Center for Assessment (Qiyas), the Ministry of Education or any government body.

In short: the question bank has 551 questions for the Mathematics (Level 1) test, 130 of them past questions: 34 from the 1441 AH recall sets, 45 from 1442 AH and 51 from 1443 AH. Each one is reviewed, re-solved from scratch and explained option by option. The rest are practice questions on the eleven standards. The past questions cover numbers, algebra, geometry, measurement and statistics well, and have few questions on teaching and the mathematical processes, so do not rely on them alone.

What recall sets (tajmi'at) are

Recall sets are questions that candidates remember after leaving the test and pass around in files and channels. So the wording sometimes arrives incomplete, figures and numbers get lost and wrong answers spread. Before we put any of them in the bank, we re-solve it and check the answer, rewrite the stem if it allows more than one answer, and explain every option along with the standard it tests. In the bank these questions are labelled "Past exam questions".

We only take recall sets from the professional license test (1441, 1442 and 1443 AH). The 1441 set in circulation mixes questions from all school stages, so we took only those within the Level 1 standards. Older sets from 1437 to 1440 are also in circulation, but they come from the earlier "Teacher Competencies" (Kafayat al-Mu'allimin) test that preceded the license, so we do not count them as past questions. We use what fits the current standards as practice questions only.

How many past questions in each standard

The first column is the standard's weight in ETEC's guide, the second is how many past questions we have in that standard and their share of the 130.

What the recall sets miss

The first five standards (numbers, algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics) make up 82% of the test and hold 114 of the 130 past questions, over 87%. This is where the recall sets help you most, though geometry (21 questions, 16%) sits below its 20% weight.

The teaching and mathematical-process standards (seventh to eleventh) make up 14% of the test and have only 14 past questions: 6 in teaching mathematics, 4 in problem solving, 3 in reasoning and 1 in communication, with none in modelling. Logic carries 4% and has only two past questions. These questions are hard to recall because they rest on a long text or a classroom scenario, so they are thin in the files, yet they are in the test. For that reason we wrote practice questions for them in the test's own format.

How to practise with them

  1. Start with the free questions (20 questions spread over the standards by weight) to find your weakest standard before you open any file.
  2. Study by the standard's weight, not by how many questions it has in the files. The study plan and the standards and weights table are built on ETEC's guide.
  3. Solve the past questions inside each standard together with its other questions, not on their own, so you do not get used only to the topics people remember most. And do not trust an answer that reached you in a file until you have solved the question yourself; wrong answers are common in recall sets.
  4. Keep the full mock exam for the last two weeks; it has the test's question count, duration and standard weights. For prices see the 7-day pass and the lifetime pass.

This test is for primary-school mathematics teachers. Middle and secondary school require Mathematics 2, a separate test with its own standards, weights and recall sets, so do not mix the questions of the two. Your license level is set by the lower of this test and the General Educational test.

Your score on our questions is an estimate of readiness, not an official result. If the free questions show a weakness in a standard the recall sets barely cover, that is the standard to start with.
