Your test date and the days left are shown at the top of this page; our source is the Professional License Test page on the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) website. This guide is independent: it is not affiliated with ETEC, Qiyas (the National Center for Assessment), the Ministry of Education or any government body.

In short: in the last week, do not start new sources. Measure yourself with one full test, then review the standards by weight: Standard 4 (language and quantitative skills) first, as it is 15 of the 88 questions, then Standards 5, 8 and 10, and two days before your test sit a second full timed mock. The last day is for light review and sleep.

Three rules before you start

  • Time: 88 questions in 120 minutes, about 80 seconds a question. Practise at that pace every day.
  • No penalty for wrong answers: never leave a question blank, in practice or in the test.
  • Paper, no calculator: solve the quantitative questions with pen and paper, as you will in the hall.

The plan, day by day

Days count down to your test date. If you have fewer than seven days, start from the day that fits, and keep the full mock two days before the test.

DayWhat to studyWhere to practise
7 days beforeA full test to set your baseline: 88 questions in two hours without stopping. Note your three weakest standards in the score report.Full mock exam
6 days beforeStandard 4: Language and Quantitative Skills (15 questions, the heaviest standard): hamza spelling, numbers and counted nouns, percentages, main idea.Practise Standard 4
5 days beforeStandard 5: Knowing Learners and How They Learn (13 questions), then Standard 8: Planning and Delivering Instruction (13).Standard 5, Standard 8
4 days beforeStandard 10: Assessment (12 questions), then Standard 9: Interactive and Supportive Learning Environments (10).Standard 10, Standard 9
3 days beforeThe small standards, quickly: 1, 3 and 7 (7 questions each) and 2 (4), then redo every question you got wrong this week.Standard 1, Standard 3, Standard 7, Standard 2, Your wrong answers
2 days beforeA second full mock, at the same time of day as the real test if you can. Compare it with the first standard by standard, and review the mistakes the same day.Full mock exam
The day beforeLight review of no more than an hour: Standard 4 flashcards and your wrong answers only. Get your ID ready, confirm your test centre, and sleep early.Standard 4 flashcards, Test day

How to review one standard in a day

  1. Read the standard's summary in the practice area (the first standard's summary is free).
  2. Answer its questions in practice mode and read why the wrong options are wrong, not just the right one; most mistakes come from an option that is nearly right.
  3. End the day by redoing the questions you got wrong, before you move to a new standard.

10 questions are free, and the free practice test shows your weakest standards. The full question bank and timed full mocks come with a 7-day or lifetime pass for this exam (pricing); a 7-day pass covers this week.

What not to do in the last week

  • Do not start a new book or file; review what you have studied.
  • Do not sit more than one full test a day: a test whose mistakes you do not review teaches you nothing.
  • Do not stay up late before the test; sleep fixes what you reviewed.

If you have more than a week, read the study plan by days remaining; for the standards and their weights, see the syllabus guide. The weights come from the General Educational Test candidate guide (p. 7). This plan is a suggestion for organising your time and does not guarantee a score; your mock results estimate readiness and are not official results.
