CME-2B exam guide

Who is it for?

CME-2B covers Saudi regulations for people seeking registration in compliance and AML/CFT functions. CME-2A covers international financial compliance. Passing an exam does not replace the remaining CMA registration requirements.

Exam format

25 questions in 30 minutes. The published pass mark is 17, equivalent to 68% of 25. Arabic and English are available; the published fee is SAR 1,700.

Chapters

Capital market institutions 20%, investment funds 16%, market conduct 12%, corporate finance 12%, investment accounts 8%, AML 20%, and terrorist financing 12%. The workbook allows chapter question counts to vary by up to two; the weights guide study rather than guarantee every paper’s allocation.

Study approach

Start with institutions and AML, then cover the other chapters. For each duty, record who acts, the trigger, recipient and deadline. Distinguish suspicious-transaction reporting to the FIU from reporting market misconduct to CMA. Check the cited provisions when an older workbook differs from an amended legal text.
