The next sitting

  • Date: expected in late January 2027.
  • What to do now: watch ETEC's page and get ready so you are prepared when registration opens. The eight-week plan gets you to a full mock exam before the date.

Which test should you take first?

The license needs both the subject test and the General Educational Test. The General Educational Test for the 1448 AH cycle is on 6 and 7 November 2026 according to ETEC's schedule (details in General Educational Test dates 1448). Our suggestions:

  • Sit whichever comes first if you are ready for it. Each result stays valid for five years, so your score is not lost if you pass one before the other.
  • The level uses the lower of the two scores, so raising one and neglecting the other does not help. Split your preparation between them.
  • Do not leave subject-test study until its date is close. The guide and standards ETEC has published (the 2020 edition) are the latest it has, so early study on them is not wasted.
