In short: the first 1448 AH sitting of the subject test ran from 18 to 31 October 2026 and has ended. The next sitting is expected in late January 2027.
The current sitting (1448 AH, first)
ETEC's schedule for the subject test in this sitting applies to all subjects, physics included:
| Item | Date |
|---|---|
| Subject test dates | 18 to 31 October 2026 (ended) |
The next sitting
- Expected date: late January 2027.
- What to do now: follow the official page and get ready so you are prepared when registration opens. The eight-week plan is enough to reach a full mock exam before the date.
Which test should I take first?
There is no required order between the subject test and the General Educational Test, and the license needs both. The General Educational Test in the 1448 AH cycle is on 6 and 7 November 2026 according to ETEC's schedule (details in General Educational Test dates 1448). Our suggestion:
- Take whichever is nearer if you are ready for it. Each result stays valid for five years, so you do not lose your score if you pass one before the other.
- The level uses the lower of the two scores, so raising one and neglecting the other does not help. Split your preparation between them.
- Do not put off studying for the subject test until registration opens. The guide and standards (2020 edition) are the latest, so studying early from them is not wasted.
Result and license
- Validity of the test result: five years from the date it is announced.
- Validity of the license: five years, renewable in the final year (Articles 6 and 7 of the Professional License Regulations).
- Steps and fees in detail: Physics test registration.
You do not need the date to start. Mechanics and electricity together are 44% of the questions, so take the free questions now and see which one is weaker for you.
