This guide covers what comes after registration: the day of the Trainers' Professional License Test (often called "the trainers' test"), your result, and what to do if you don't pass. Registration steps, fees and the 2026 dates are in the registration guide, and how to study is in the study plan.

What the applicant guide advises on test day
In the "on test day" section of the applicant guide, ETEC advises finishing your review of the professional standards one or two days before the test, and then:
- Rest before you go into the test.
- Make sure you bring the documents required to enter, such as your national ID.
- Have a light meal before the test.
- Keep to the queue during the entry procedures.
- Stay calm: you cannot control how the test goes, but you can control yourself.
- Don't let the proctors' procedures bother you; they are standardised across the Kingdom.
Our own advice: you have about 64 seconds per question, so don't get stuck on one, and don't plan on going back to earlier questions.
Test room rules
ETEC publishes the Exam Regulations (لائحة تنظيم الاختبارات) for tests delivered by its National Center for Assessment, and you register for the trainers' test through the same e-services portal, so the following are ETEC's general exam rules; also check the instructions you receive when you register. Article 9 of the regulations requires candidates to:
- Bring the original ID or the official digital ID, and arrive at the scheduled time.
- Follow the seating arrangements and the rules for entering and leaving the room.
- Not bring a calculator or mobile phone into the room, and not bring any camera or recording device.
- Not cheat or attempt to cheat, and not talk to other candidates.
- Dress in line with the Public Decency Regulations.
- Not photograph the screen or the room, and not disclose test questions at any time after the test.
Penalties under the regulations (Article 13) go up to being barred from the test, cancellation of the result, cancellation of previous test results, and a ban from tests for a set period. The Trainers' Professional License Regulations themselves (Article 12) add that if a trainer's license is cancelled, their license test result is cancelled with it, and they may be banned from the test for up to two years.
When and where your result appears
- Where: ETEC says results are available in the applicant's file as soon as they are released. You can check them through the "trainers' professional license test results enquiry" service on the Sadeed platform: sign in with the National Single Sign-On (Nafath) or your ID or iqama number and password, and your results appear automatically without entering any data. The service is free and instant, according to the ETEC page.
- When: results come out about three weeks after the test; the newspaper Ajel, citing ETEC, reported that results of the 1 October 2026 test would be released on 22 October 2026.
- If your result does not appear: under the Exam Regulations (Article 26), a candidate whose result was not released cannot claim it more than 30 days after results are announced; if the centre cannot release it, it registers the candidate on request for a replacement test at the nearest available date at no charge. So check your file once results are out and ask promptly.
Reading your result
- The ETEC page states a pass mark of 55 or above.
- The applicant guide asks anyone retaking the test to analyse their previous score to find the areas that need review, so keep your result and whatever detail it shows.
If you pass
The general license is issued through the "issue a general trainer license" service on Sadeed as soon as you pay SAR 200; a specialised license is issued after the sector regulator approves. Note the rule in Article 6 of the Regulations: if you issue the license within one calendar year of passing your most recent test, it is valid for five years from the issue date; if you wait longer, the five years are counted from the end of that year, which shortens the license's real life. Details are in the registration guide.
If you don't pass
- Number of attempts: you can retake the test an unlimited number of times when dates are announced (FAQ on the ETEC page).
- Fee: SAR 100 per attempt.
- When to retake: Register for the next sitting ETEC announces, and the test is held 3 to 4 times a year. The next announced sitting is 3 December 2026, with registration opening on 29 October 2026. When you register, check that the sitting is open to repeat candidates.
- Re-marking: Article 27 of the Exam Regulations gives candidates the right to request a re-mark within 60 days of their result being announced, for a fee of no more than SAR 500 that is refunded if the recorded score proves wrong, and the centre must give the outcome within ten working days.
- Grievances against a decision: Article 13 of the Trainers' Professional License Regulations lets any applicant file a grievance with ETEC against a decision issued against them within 60 days of the decision being placed in their e-file; it is heard by a committee of at least three members, including a legal specialist.
- Study again, smarter: start with the areas where you were weak, then sit a timed mock exam before you pay for another attempt. The standards ordered by weight are in the study plan, and you can begin with the free practice test.
