The six weeks
| Week | Focus | By the end of the week |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mathematics (9) and Probability and Statistics (4): 13 questions | Finish all ten mathematics indicators and do a short test on each |
| 2 | Statics and Dynamics (6), Materials (6), Thermodynamics (3), Fluid Mechanics (3): 18 questions | Read a steam table and solve one Bernoulli problem without notes |
| 3 | Chemistry (6), Computer Literacy (6), Drawing (4), Electricity and Magnetism (3): 19 questions | A mixed set from weeks 1 to 3; write down every wrong answer |
| 4 | Engineering Economics (6), Project Management (6), Ethics (6): 18 questions | Solve a critical path network and a present-worth comparison by hand |
| 5 | General Skills (22), then your two or three weakest topics | A mixed set of 45 questions in 90 minutes, with every option reviewed |
| 6 | Full mock exam, review, light revision | One full mock exam of 90 questions in 180 minutes, then your weakest topics |
Why this order
Weeks 1 to 4 cover the 68 questions of the 13 specific topics, grouped by question count so each week carries 13 to 19 questions. General skills is 22 questions, 24% of the paper, so it gets a slot in every week: do 15 to 20 minutes of general-skills questions each day in weeks 1 to 4, then a full week in week 5. Calculation topics come first because they need the most repetition.
Week 6 in detail
| Day | Task |
|---|---|
| 1 | Review your mistakes list and the topics with the lowest scores |
| 2 | Light practice on weak topics |
| 3 | Full mock exam: 90 questions in 180 minutes, one sitting, with an approved calculator |
| 4 | Review every question from the mock, including the ones you got right by guessing |
| 5 | Weak topics again, 10 questions at a time |
| 6 | Short review of formulas and terms in English |
| 7 | Rest. Prepare your admission card and calculator |
How to read your mock score
The mock exam shows your score per topic, so you can see which topics pull you down. A topic with 22 questions such as general skills moves your total far more than one with 3 questions, so fix the large and low topics first. Pace yourself at about 2 minutes per question: answer, mark and move on, since wrong answers carry no penalty according to the study guide.
