Conditions, fees and dates can change, so confirm them on the Fellowship exam page on the SOCPA website and the Fellowship application service page before you apply and pay. This is an independent guide with no connection to SOCPA, the Education and Training Evaluation Commission or any government body, and it cannot register you.
Registering for the regulations subject means registering for the Fellowship exam itself: you submit one application for one or more subjects. Two things catch applicants out: the registration window is only ten days in each sitting, and anyone who does not book a test venue with the National Center for Assessment is counted as absent.
The journey in short
- Check your eligibility, then create an account on SOCPA e-services and attach your documents.
- During the announced registration window, submit one application choosing your city and the subject or subjects.
- Wait for the application to be processed (about 10 working days), then pay the exam fee and the fee for each subject.
- After final approval, book your test venue on the National Center for Assessment e-services, 21 days before the sitting starts, within a five-day window.
- Come on exam day with a valid ID. The regulations subject runs from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
Who can register?
SOCPA accepts candidates for the Fellowship exam with one of two qualifications:
| Qualification | Condition |
|---|---|
| 1 | A bachelor's or higher in an accounting major approved by SOCPA (levels 6, 7 and 8 in the Saudi Standard Classification of Specializations) |
| 2 | A bachelor's or higher in economics, finance or administrative sciences approved by SOCPA, with 15 credit hours completed in accounting (or what SOCPA considers equivalent) |
- Recognition of your qualification: only educational certificates recognised by the Ministry of Education are accepted, from recognised universities and colleges.
- Accounting hours: SOCPA has rules for completing the hours and a list of accepted accounting courses, linked from the exam page. Check them before applying if your major is not accounting.
- List of majors: approved by SOCPA's exam committee, with links on the exam page.
Fees
| Item | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Exam fee | SAR 1,000 the first time, SAR 500 in later sittings | Paid with the subject fees on the same application |
| Subject fee | SAR 300 per subject | Regulations alone: SAR 300 on top of the exam fee |
| Resit of a subject you did not pass | SAR 300 for the subject, plus the later-sitting entry fee (SAR 500) | You may resit any subject in a later sitting |
So someone registering for regulations alone for the first time pays SAR 1,300, and someone resitting it in a later sitting pays SAR 800. The fees are published on the exam application page and in the 2026 professional exams guide. SOCPA warns that if you pay only part of what is due and ignore the rest, your application is rejected for all registered subjects, so pay the full exam fee and the fees for every subject.
Registration steps on SOCPA e-services
- Create an account from "New user registration" on SOCPA e-services, enter your basic details and press "Send". An activation email arrives; if you do not see it, check your junk folder.
- Sign in with your ID or resident ID number and password, then enter the verification code sent to your mobile before it expires.
- Choose "Fellowship exam", then "Attachments", and attach the required documents.
- Press "Register". The exam schedule appears with a note about booking city, venue and seat at the National Center for Assessment. Read it, press "Next" and enter the required data.
- Choose your test city, payment type and subject (or subjects), then "Save".
- Wait for processing: SOCPA handles it within ten working days. If the reply is late, you can follow up at exam@socpa.org.sa.
- Pay the fees after approval, then book your test venue as in the section below.
You can hold only one application: if you add or delete a subject or change the city before the invoice is issued, the earlier application is cancelled automatically and the latest one stands. After the invoice is issued you cannot add or delete a subject. We did not try these portals ourselves because they need a sign-in; the steps come from the service page, and button names may differ slightly.
Documents required
- A colour personal photo.
- A copy of your bachelor's certificate.
- A copy of your academic transcript.
- A copy of your passport if you are not Saudi.
- A declaration and authorisation form to verify the certificate, or the certificate equivalency decision, or a certificate verification report.
Booking the test venue
SOCPA's approval is not enough on its own. After final approval, sign in to the National Center for Assessment e-services and choose the test venue 21 days before the sitting starts, within a five-day window. If you do not choose a venue in that window, no seat is booked and you are counted as absent. Cities depend on seat availability: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Makkah, Al-Ahsa, Al-Qassim, Madinah, Tabuk, Abha, and Al-Majmaah (men only). SOCPA may move your exam from computer-based to paper-based or the reverse depending on seat availability, without your consent.
Exam dates and registration windows
The Fellowship exam runs four times a year over four days (Sunday to Wednesday). The regulations subject falls on the same day as zakat and tax, which is Monday: zakat and tax from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, then regulations from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. If you register for both, you sit them on the same day.

Postponement and resits
- Postponement: you may request to postpone the exam or any subject at least 25 days before the start of the exam period, and you register for the postponed exam in the next sitting or the one after.
- Resit: you may resit any subject you did not pass in a later sitting, for the subject fee (SAR 300) plus the later-sitting entry fee (SAR 500).
- Mark review: an arithmetic check is requested within two weeks of the results announcement at exam@socpa.org.sa, according to the exam page.
How long a passed subject stays valid
The result of a subject you passed is cancelled if four calendar years and thirty days pass from the date you sat it without passing all Fellowship subjects, and you must retake it. Someone who passes regulations on 21 December 2026 must complete the remaining subjects before about 20 January 2031. The period runs for each subject from the date you sat it.
