Try 10 free questions and see your levelLast verified: 31 October 2026. The weights come from ETEC's candidate guide for the Biology test, and the past-question counts from our question bank. This is an independent guide, not affiliated with ETEC, the National Center for Assessment (Qiyas), the Ministry of Education or any government body.
In short: the question bank has 54 past questions for the Biology teacher license test, 33 from the 1447 AH recall sets and 21 from 1446 AH, each reviewed and explained option by option. But the recall sets are not spread across the domains the way the test is, so use them to learn the question style, and spread your study across the seven domains by their weights in ETEC's guide.
What recall sets (tajmi'at) are
Recall sets are questions that candidates remember after leaving the test and pass around in files and channels. So the wording sometimes arrives incomplete, figures get lost and wrong answers spread. Before we put any of them in the bank, we check the answer, rewrite the stem if it allows more than one answer, and explain every option along with the ETEC standard it tests. In the bank these questions are labelled "Past exam questions".
How many past questions in each domain
The first column is the domain's weight in ETEC's guide, the second is how many past questions we have in that domain and their share of the 54.
| Domain | Weight in the test | Our past questions |
|---|---|---|
| History and nature of biology | 13% | 4 (7%) |
| Structure and function | 15% | 7 (13%) |
| Classification | 12% | 9 (17%) |
| Ecology and biodiversity | 13% | 6 (11%) |
| Life processes, immunity and disease | 21% | 14 (26%) |
| Genetics | 15% | 9 (17%) |
| Teaching biology and lab safety | 11% | 5 (9%) |
What the recall sets miss
The biology recall sets follow the test weights more closely than those of other subjects, and the gap is at the two ends. Classification has 9 of the 54 (17%) against a test weight of 12%, because questions on kingdoms and their traits are easy to remember. History and nature of biology has only 4 (7%) against a weight of 13%: the nature of science, the scientific method, the contributions of Muslim scholars, and the difference between a fact, a concept, a theory and a law.
The largest domain in the test, life processes, immunity and disease (21%), is also the largest in the recall sets (14 questions), so start there.
How to practise with them
- Start with the free questions (10 questions spread over the domains by weight) to find your weakest domain before you open any file.
- Start with life processes, immunity and disease, and do not leave the history and nature of biology for the last day. The eight-week plan and the standards and weights table are built on ETEC's guide.
- Solve the past questions inside each unit together with its other questions, not on their own, so you do not get used only to the domains people remember most.
- Keep the full mock exam for the last two weeks; it is spread over the domains by weight, like the test.
Remember that your license level is set by the lower of this test and the General Educational test. Related tests on this site: Science 2, the General Educational test.
Your score on our questions is an estimate of readiness, not an official result. If the free questions show a weakness in a domain the recall sets barely cover, that is the domain to start with.
