In short: apply online with SCFHS, receive a scheduling permit, then book a date at an approved Prometric center in Saudi Arabia or abroad. Upcoming windows are 1 to 24 November 2026, 1 to 24 December 2026 and 3 to 21 January 2027.
Who can apply
- Holders of a BSN or equivalent from an accredited program.
- Candidates who have started their internship year.
- Students at Saudi universities and colleges in their final year.
Steps
- Apply for the exam online with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
- Once your application is processed, you receive an email with your scheduling permit and eligibility period.
- Book your date on the website named in the permit. Booking is usually not open more than three months ahead, and planning your attempts during the year is your responsibility.
- Do not book two tests in the same window: the first result is announced, and the second counts as an attempt with its result cancelled.
Test day
- Centers open at 7:30 a.m. Arriving more than 30 minutes late or missing the test counts as an attempt unless the committee accepts your reason.
- Bring your scheduling permit (paper or on your phone) and a valid passport or Saudi national or residence ID, with the name matching exactly.
- Two parts of 100 questions and 120 minutes each, with a 30-minute break. If you overrun the break, the next part starts and the extra time is deducted.
- The center gives you a laminated board and marker for notes.
Results and retakes
Results are not instant; they are announced 2 to 6 weeks after the window ends. The pass mark is 500 on a 200 to 800 scale. You can sit the exam up to 4 times a year until you pass.
